The scientific school of our group, “Biopolymers & Nanobiotechnology”, is aiming to improve the economy of the country through production of low-cost foods and drugs and protection of the environment from wastes through applied scientific projects and theses.

  1. Mr. Mohamed Yassin M.Sc. thesis is entitled: "Encapsulation of active materials within a friendly polymeric matrix for biotechnology".(Awarded his M.Sc. in 2009). It was aiming to encapsulate low molecular weight drugs inside grafted alginate beads and controlling their release in such a way that they are well protected at the stomach (pH 1.2, very acidic) and slow release at the intestine (pH 7.4).
  2. Mr. Sakr Ashour M.Sc.thesis is entitled: "Drug delivery systems of ibuprofen encapsulated into micro and nano biopolymeric particles". The degree was awarded from Sweden in 2011.
  3. Mr. Ali Hassan M.Sc. thesis is entitled: "Biochemical studies on immobilized penicillin Acylase on different carriers". (Awarded his M.Sc. in 2013) It aims to immobilize penicillin Acylase on polymeric carriers for production of 6-APA which is the base for manufacturing 65% of the worldwide antibiotics.
  4. Mr. Mohamed Elsayed Ph.D. thesisis entitled: "Microbiological studies on production of fructose from different sources using immobilization of enzymes techniques". (Awarded his Ph.D. in 2012). It was aiming to produce novel carriers to immobilize the industrial enzymes β-galactosidase and glucose isomerase to solve the problem of 70% of the worldwide population who are suffering from lactose intolerance. It will also solve an environmental problem such as converting whey to fructose syrup instead of throwing it in water resources. Fructose syrup will be an excellent sweetener as well as a remedy for people on diet regiment and diabetics.
  5. Mr. Abdullah Yassin M.Sc. thesis is entitled: "Validation of some newly synthesized Nano-Magnetic Particles for Early Detection of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Infection”. The degree will be awarded from Mansoura Univ & Bonn Univ in Germany.
  6. Mrs. Marwa Ibrahim Ph.D. thesisis entitled:"Microbiological studies on production of penicillin acylase from different sources and their purification and stabilization using immobilization techniques". It aims to produce penicillin Acylase and its semi-purification and stabilization using immobilization techniques for the aim of production of 6-APA which is the base for manufacturing 65% of the worldwide antibiotics.
  7. Mr. Ramadan Mohamed Ahmed Ph.D.thesis is entitled: "Producing milk enrich in omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids by supplementing protected vegetable oils to lactating animals ratirus". (Awarded his Ph.D. in 2012). It aims to encapsulate some important oils as Omega 3 and Omega 6 using the Encapsulator as drug delivery systems to improve Buffalo’s meat.
  8. Sara Youssri Abdallah M.Sc. thesis is entitled:"The study of magnetic nanoparticles produced by Magnetospirillum spp. and its application as drug delivery system". It aims to produce magnetic nanoparticles using bacteria and its modifications and applications for drug delivery systems.


Teaching & Training

    • Teaching biochemistry and chemistry (Medicinal Chemistry) at Taif Univ. My duties include teaching and demonstrating the first and second year as well as the preparatory year students towards faculties of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and health sciences. Courses included Medicinal Chemistry I & II (carbohydratems, proteins, amino acids, enzymes, lipids, cholesterol, and vitamins) and Practical of clinical biochemistry. I improved the laboratory demonstration system in my department using descriptive and simplified PowerPoint presentation and Videos:


       I have seen a great improvement in the students’ performance and I received an appreciation from the head of the department. Beside that we have research projects, scientific publications and administrative work, for example, I am a member in two committees, students’ guidance & follow up.
    • Teaching Assistant in the Biochemistry Department, Leeds UniversityUnited Kingdom23.12.1999 - 20.08.2000. Practical included protein analysis, purification and determination using ion exchange chromatography and gel electrophoresis. I also marked exams and I received an excellent feedback from faculty. Member at the strategic planning unit (SPU) at the Academyof Scientific Researchand Higher Education, 2007-2008.

      I delivered chemistry lectures (in French) to high school, setting and marking exams.

  • Training of Staff at the National Research of Standards (NIS) and the National research Center (NRC) on how to write grants proposals for the European projects (RDI), June 2009 – July, 2011.
  • Training postgraduate students from the Academyof Scientific Research& Higher Education, February & March 2011 on:

  • Chief Supervisor /Chief Invigilator, Leeds University, United Kingdom, 01.10.2001 – 20.05.2005.

Main responsibilities included: time management-observing and supervising students, invigilators and supervisors - solving any problem among students, invigilators and supervisors-taking action in case of cheating or sickness cases among students-supervising and distributing duties to invigilators - ensuring that all students returned back their script book(s) after the exam. I got an excellent feedback from my boss.
